TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES at NIAGARA ACADEMY OF TENNIS
It is our hope that you will enjoy and benefit from participating in this tennis tournament at Niagara Academy. It is our goal to host an event that will provide a friendly and professional environment. Our commitment is to ensure that our staff is knowledgeable, respectful and courteous to all players and spectators.
Two Star Events Protocol
Guarantee Two Matches
Scoring: 2 out of 3 sets, no adds, 10 point tie-breaker 3rd set
Balls: Dunlop – new cans for main rounds, used balls for consolation
Warm-up: 5 minutes
Inside Dome Temperature: 17 degrees
Rest period between matches: 45 minutes
Boys U16 will be played over Saturday and Sunday
Boys U18 will be played over Friday and Saturday
Girls U16 will be played over Saturday and Sunday
Girls U18 will be played entirely on Sunday
- There are no warm up courts prior to playing a match.
- Parents and Spectators are required to sit one court away from where their child is playing.
- All parents, spectators, players are required to take a seat upon entering the dome and are not allowed
to stand in the dome doorway.
- A court monitor will be available during the tournament however will NOT be expected to stay on any one specific court.
- The only person able to request a referee is the PLAYER, not a parent or spectator. Under no circumstance is a parent or spectator allowed to communicate with a player during play.
- Players are required to follow the code of conduct and rules of etiquette as outlined in the code of conduct. A tournament director and/or court monitor’s decision is final.
- Any player, parent, or spectator not showing good sportsmanship, respect of the rules and referees, will be in violation of the code of conduct and the player will receive the appropriate infraction – point, game, match.
